Back when the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple was build, but not yet dedicated, my friend Shannon, my family, and I had the opporunity to tour the temple.  It is truely magnificient.  Here is a picture from the past of that Summer day.
It's the last day of April!  May...And warmer weather...Here we come!

Simply Colorful

Tonight I went to the high school I teach at to see a dance concert.  One of my special education students with Autism was part of the dance company because she takes the entry level dance class at school.  She LOVES to dance.  Dancing is her passion.  When we had our Special Education Dance this past April, she danced the WHOLE time...Even with a slice of pizza in her hand!

However, this student is very shy, and she is terrified of being in front of a lot of people.  Her number titled, "Simply Colorful" started, and she was the FIRST student on the stage.  Someone was pushing a cube made of pipe across the stage, and my student hopped in and out of the cube as it rolled.  Then, she appeared on stage at the end of the performance to dance some more.  Her movements were almost in snync with everyone elses'.  The ending pose had my student right in the middle.  I was so thrilled and happy to have seen my student suceed and be successful in something she loves.  She conquered her fears of being on stage, and she performed WONDERFULLY.

At the very end, the whole dance company came on stage and bowed.  Her smile was HUGE.  I have never seen her so happy.  Tonight is a night I will never forget.  I love my students so much, and I applaud all of their successes.  :)

A Whole New World

Oh hey. This post is totally dedicated to my dear friend Brittney. She reminded me in my previous post about my performance as Aladdin with Whitney as Jasmine. Whitney and I sang "A Whole New World" for a talent show at our study abroad in London, England. This video was taken on August 12, 2007. Eat it up.

Whataya think?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone!!

This past Friday, Mom, Krista, and I drove up to Idaho to see my cousin Isaac in his school play Aladdin.  It was great!

Yesterday, I went to a Princeton 1st Ward reunion.  A lot of people that come through my home ward of Princeton, New Jersey, somehow end up in Utah.  Every year there is a Princeton reunion.  It was great to get back together with friends and chat.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!  I'm off to church now...

We Have A 1:30 Tee Time

Still on vacation.  I never want this to end.  I love it here so much!

Thursday, April 14th: Dad and I went to trek along the east side of Saguaro National Park.  Driving through the loop, I had flashbacks to when I was back in high school, and Krista and I running through the cacti up and over rocks just playing in the wilderness.  It was fun to revisit those memories.  The cactus were stunning as per usual.  Look at the pictures below; in some of them I look JUST like a Saguaro.  See if you can pick me out. ;)

We ate some delicious Lebanese food for lunch, and then I just laid out poolside to soak up some hot Arizona sun.  After laying out for a few hours, Dad and I made our way to the west side of Saguaro National Park to see the sunset over the cacti.  It was truly beautiful.  We also found some Saguaro flowers.  We definitely came at the right time of year.

Oh, and this is our resort.
Friday, April 15th: Dad, his cousin Bret, and I went out for a BBQ lunch before our 1:30 tee time.  Golfing along the Sonoran Desert was incredible.  My favorite part about golfing was getting out in the fresh air and being in the beautiful scenery...And seeing the cottontail rabbit was fun, too!  After golfing, we went over to Bret and Kim's house where I got to play with some of my 2nd cousins (I think that's what they are called.  My Dad's cousin's kids.).  They are so awesome, and so much fun!  I wish I could see more of them.  I got to throw and spin balls, draw, play Blokus, see Luigi the turtle, see caterpillars in cocoon form, watch YouTube videos about vegetables being StarWars, see a strings performance to one of my favorite church hymns, had a delicious dinner, and I learned all about the bravest animal in all of Africa...HONEY BADGERS!  Pretty rad!  Today was my favorite day of the tip so far...There is just something so special about being with family.

Hangin' Out With The Cacti

I know you are just DYING to know what I have been up to on my vacation!  (Just kidding).  But, I am here to share with you what I have been up to.

Visiting family in Vegas slash Logandale, Nevada was great.  I made my way down to Arizona on Sunday, April 10th.

Monday, April 11th: I had the opportunity to hang out with one of my very BEST friends from my Special Education program at BYU, Elyse.  She is so awesome (even when she teases me, which is ALL the time...She's like the talking big sister I never had)!  It was really great to see her and just hang out by the pool, get frozen yogurt, and go with her to Institute (on Tuesday the 12th).

Tuesday, April 12th: It was also really great to spend time with my extended family and 2nd cousins Clint, Rhett, Jenetta, Carissa, and Jo'ella.

Wednesday, April 13th: I am now in Tucson, Arizona with my Dad.  We used to spend a lot of time out here when I was younger, so it's been really good to come back and relive some of those great memories.  Today we went to Saguaro National Park and hung out with the all the cacti there.  We also found this really cool rock that looked like it was fully pieced together, but was actually broken in four different pieces.  Pretty cool!  Look at the pictures below.  We also traveled up to Mt. Lemon.  We found snow up there.  Snow...In Tucson...In the Spring!?  The travel to the top of Mt. Lemon is like traveling from Tucson, Arizona to Canada.  Really though, the whole landscape changes.  It's pretty awesome.  We also go to go to University of Arizona campus.  U of A is pretty shweet.
